Do you like the NEWforgottenMan?

by NFM1 on April 5, 2010

We here at NEWforgottenMan face a serious question. Should we take time away from our families, schoolwork, social lives, and other pursuits to continue providing content for the site and store. In December 2009 two of the three of us had finals, and our primary writer, NFM2, was starting a new job.  I had just bought a new home that needed lots of work. The NEWforgottenMan took its place on our back burners. Right now I am about to go to class, I  am behind in school, my house needs work, and my wife is expecting. I don’t know about NFM2 and NFM3.

Today I was checking my email and discovered that NFM’s predecessor had sold several patriotic items. This news made me curious and i checked our analytics. To my surprise, there are still hundreds of people who read our site regularly, notwithstanding our lack of content. I feel that we have something worth pursuing, but this pursuit comes at significant personal sacrifice for myself and my counterparts.  I am willing to spend the time, to forsake sleep, and to give this site a priority among my many endeavors. This site however, cannot be ran by me alone. I need NFM2 and NFM3, I also need a loyal and contributing following. I need for the fans of this site to take the time to share their views in the form of comments, I need the fans of this site to purchase from our store (dollars and cents go a long way toward convincing wives), and I need you to comment on this post with your feelings about what we should do.

Should the NEWforgottenMan continue?

Comment to tell us what you think. If you really like us, buy something.

Why We Need More Government and Less Bureaucracy

December 1, 2009

One of the most contentious and anger-provoking topics for most politicos is the size of government. Conservatives argue that government should be smaller; Liberals that it should be larger. They’re both wrong! Let me explain. The general idea of both conservatives and liberals (and most everyone else) is that government=bureaucracy. Most people lump those together [...]

Who is the New Forgotten Man?

The New Forgotten Man Thumbnail

We chose the name New Forgotten Man for a plethora of reasons. We had some extremely practical reasons like the way it rolls off our tongues and the ease with which it sticks in the minds of those who embrace the concept. We had other reasons that had to do with the type of people [...]

The 3 Most Influential People in the Healthcare Debate

November 18, 2009
Forgotten Man

****If you are from Arkansas, Louisiana, or Nebraska please read this and take action**** Most would say that Obama, Reid and Pelosi are the most influential people in the healthcare debate. That is NOT true. Thank your lucky stars for three Blue Dog Democrats from the conservative states listed above. Senators Blanche Lincoln, D-AR, Mary [...]

Providence and Conservatism

Harvest Face November 16, 2009

Bill Maher said something on the Tonight Show a year ago that has disturbed me ever since. His basic idea was that the Republicans have been fooling their constituents because the constituents do not vote in their own economic self interest. Republicans have fooled their constituents, but what they’ve done is duped their constituents into [...]

Tyranny of the Majority

Tyranny

Healthcare in America is NOT the big political problem that most people think it is. Healthcare, while politicians themselves may squabble over the details, is actually just a symptom of a much larger and more pervasive problem that exists on both sides of the aisle. The underlying problem that leads to the tension over healthcare [...]

The Constituency Effect

November 5, 2009

The most ridiculous notion that exists in the nation right now is the idea that a complex system should be replaced wholesale. Healthcare is NOT a pressure washer. You can’t just go to Costco and buy a new one for a couple hundred dollars and haul the old one to the dump. (Not that we, [...]
